Friday Cuteness Trifecta – Part 3… Golden Retriever Dare Devil Rules!

July 20, 2012

Sadly, this brings an end to the cuteness parade of today. But never fear! There are plenty more cute and adorable animals out there, and as Scarlett O’Hara once said, ‘tomorrow is another day’.

I do love how this dog’s human friends are so thoroughly entertained by spending an evening of getting the dog to jump over them. The dog is like, ‘Ok! PLAY TIME! YAY! Can we do this ALL the time!!!???!!! Can we, can we, can we???’.

He’s also very smart when he gets to the human hurdle trifecta!

And remember, if you’re in the market for a pet, please check out the shelters first. The more dogs and cats that find a forever home, the more places there are for the homeless ones in no kill shelters and it’s one less animal waiting on death row. Plus they’re just so wonderful and full of love.

Watch the video. Enjoy!

Maximus & Paylar Get A Second Chance

December 28, 2011

Meet Maximus and Paylar. The brothers, Great Pyrenees, who are both senior dogs, have been given a second chance.

They lost their home when their owner, who’d had them since tiny pups, had to give them up due to financial straits after he lost his home July this year.

These dogs were handed reluctantly over to Big Dogs Huge Paws Inc, and they are both thriving and are ready for adoption. The dogs were not in great condition when they arrived, due to their owners financial problems over the past few years (both dogs need medications), and having had to live in a kennel with little human contact. But now they’re doing great!

They’re currently in foster care, have been housebroken, leash trained, and even passed the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluations on December 26.

If you’re thinking of adopting them, or know someone who might be interested, please know they are gentle, loving, both kid and cat approved, but have ongoing medical expenses and must come as a pair as they are devoted to each other. They are 10 and looking for that special, loving home (most definitely indoors!).

December 6, 2011

Join Prince Lorenzo Borghese this Saturday night (12/10/11) for fun, festivities, cocktails (all the holiday trimmings!), and cat and dog adoptions.

The event, held at 228 West 28th St (between 8th and 9th Avenues) is not only to raise awareness for homeless cats and dogs and raise money, but it’s to find a home for 30 cats and 25 dogs, because they all deserve to find a home and get to be in that home for the holidays.

After all, didn’t you always want to be Santa (admit it, you did – the whole sleigh and reindeer at your command, getting free drinks, cookies and cakes at every home….bringing joy to kids the world around…as jobs go, it’s pretty good, even if you do have to wear a long white beard and perhaps a pillow tummy under the red suit…)? Well, now you can.

Tickets are available at, and are tax deductible. The event starts at 6pm and ends at 10pm, so you’ll be able to attend and paint the town Santa red afterwards!

So do yourself a favour (and those little cats and dog who are searching for a home), and buy your ticket tonight. Lorenzo is looking forward to seeing you. Spread the word.

RS Pop Up Adoption Shop – Opening Reception Tonight!

November 2, 2011

The Mayor’s Alliance – a coalition of more than 150 pet rescue groups that work together with Animal Care and Control of New York to put an end to the killing of healthy and treatable cats and dogs in AC&C shelters, is teaming up with the innovative and exciting POP-UP shop at the Roger Smith hotel.

From this November, the RS POP-UP shop will feature an array of fantastic pet products and pets available for adoption! This is an idea we love and can really get behind.

Every Wednesday during November, a Mayor’s Alliance adoption van will be parked outside the shop with even more animals available for adoption! This will coincide with a weekly cocktail party at the shop, which is more than all right by me.

Tonight, from 5 until 8, join in the celebrations with complimentary wine, twisted lemonade and Pop chips for the opening reception and ceremonial ribbon cutting.

It’s at the Roger Smith hotel, 501 Lexington Avenue (RSVP to So come along, celebrate this innovative and fabulous idea, sip some wine or lemonade, eat some yummy Pop chips, pick up some wonderful pet items, and even adopt an adorable and loving new furry friend!

We hope to see you there!

Kitler The ‘Hitler’ Mustached Kitten Finds A Home!

August 12, 2011

Remember our story about the cute little kitten dubbed ‘Kitler’ (because of her ‘mustache’)?

Of course you do, and one glance at that adorable photo above says two things: 1: Hitler? No dictator resemblance at all, it’s just half a mo, and no self-respecting evil doer would be happy with that, oh and also, how adorable are her teeny little baby kitten fangs??? (oops, I mean teeth…) AND 2: What kind of mad people would not fight each other for this kitten? I’m talking the kind of fighting that happens with big department store sales over the last item, with pulling of hair, biting, quite possibly bribery and blackmail, and everything!!! ?

Well, as our headline puts it (and we admit, sometimes we’re not really that good at the whole suspense thing…well, that’s why we’re here telling you about all things animal, adorable, Italian royalty, pampered pets, and fabulous organic pet shampoos and pet supplies, and not, say, writing edge-of-your-seat novels or billion dollar making movies, so I guess it all works out in the end…), little Miss Kitty has been adopted!

Oh, and she has a brand new name.

While ‘Kitler’ can be rather darkly amusing (for those people who like to anthropomorphize animals and inanimate objects), she has been gifted with a better, prettier and rather uplifting moniker of ‘Luminus’.

Yay, adorable little Luminus, on finding a forever home.

And, for the record, she does not, in any way at all, not even if you’re really delusional, resemble Hitler.

After the original article became an Internet hit, with her sad story of people not wanting to adopt her because of her ‘unfortunate resemblance to Hitler), offers to adopt the adorable non-evil dictator kitten poured in from all over the world.

Well, she has a home (as was hinted at in the headline spoiler), and the Wood Green animal shelter in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, England, won’t divulge who she now resides with. It could be anywhere. But, the shelter also says they have many wonderful cats, kittens, puppies and dogs who all need homes, so if you have room, and (most probably) live in England, then why not adopt?

Pets are awesome, and if you’re reading this, you already know this amazing fact. But if you want a pet to fill a void, or a new friend to add to the family, then contact this, or whichever shelter is close to you. So many wonderful animals are looking for homes. And they all have personalities, quirks, and above all, a will (and a right) to live.

So if you can, please adopt a pet. I thank the universe every day for my incredible black cat. From a teeny tiny rescue kitten to a big, manly, handsome cat that is either a small panther or mid-size dog in disguise (I kid you not, everyone comments on his size. He’s not fat – kinda kitty plump – but he’s tall and long and a manly feline), and he’s smart, loyal spirited and loving.

If I could have another cat (Marvin is very alpha and has beaten up cats we’ve had visit), I would, because they all deserve the right to have a wonderful life, and while I got Marvin as a teeny baby, I’d love to help an older cat.

Anyway, adopt, adopt, adopt, and get back so much more than you ever can possibly put in. The pure love and devotion and trust of an animal who is your family, your companion, is the purest, sweetest love anyone can have. And that, my friends, is worth it.

Meet Kitler…

July 30, 2011

Meet Kitler, the seriously adorable kitten who currently lives at Godmanchester’s Wood Green animal shelter. Kitler, who nearly died from starvation after being abandoned by the side of the road, and nursed back into health and proper kitty shape the the shelter staff apparently can’t find a home.

The staff think it’s because she has a Hitler-like mustache.

According to Metro, the shelter had this to say:  “We re-home five and a half thousand animals every year but we cannot find a loving owner for Kitler. We think her unusual markings are putting people off. Kitler is an adorable little girl who will make a wonderful addition to the right family. She is really playful and a typical sweet kitten.

Um, they named her Kitler. I know there’s a whole website dedicated to cats that look like Hitler (or Kitlers), full of cute cats with black mustaches, but naming her Kitler? It isn’t helping. Nor is the fact that people are being seriously stupid for not wanting to adopt her because she has a mustache that reminds them of Hitler.

She’s a sweet little gorgeous kitten who happens to have black markings. Anthropomorphizing pets is something people do all the time, but to foist negative feelings about an evil dictator and mass murderer onto an innocent cat is ridiculous.

It’s reasons like this that so many wonderful pets get left behind in shelters. People assign human characteristics to animals, or the animal isn’t the right size or colour, or has the right markings. Some of the best pets in the world are the ones who are less than ‘perfect’.

I truly hope someone adopts her. Renaming her might be a good idea, too.

Will somebody heil those dumb bitches in the back of the head? It’s not because of her markings, it’s because of the fact that you named her KITLER! You can try to make her seem as adorable as possible by naming her cage “Meowschwitz” and telling people she loves to recite meows from Meow Kampf, but it’s not going to work! Hitler cannot be adorable. (Okay, Kitler is slightly adorable). They need to squash the rumors of Kitler’s hate for Jew cats by putting together a friendly photo-op between her andYarmulkitteh.

2 Gorgeous Kittens Looking For A Home

October 25, 2010

These two darling kittens (Tiger and Smokey.) were rescued from a hoarder.

Unfortunately, the little girl in their new home is allergic to cats. Her family has tried everything, change of diet for the kittens, shampooing, daily brushing, but to no real avail.

The kittens are much loved but they need to find another home.

If you’re looking for some fabulous company, or know someone who does, please contacts us here at royal pet club.

The kittens are easy, loving little creatures. They have never once scratched, hissed at anyone; never unleashed a claw at anyone. Very sweet, wonderful little cats.

All shots. Perfectly healthy. About 5 months old. Sisters. Would like to keep them together.

They live in Manhattan and would love to find a place to call their permanent home.
